Have you uploaded the Trifari video yet? In another video you said you had made it.

How do you determine value on an item you find

my surprise was bakelite brooches , I started on ebay with a tin of buttons I found in a dumpster ! Sold some bakelite buttons out of that. Saw a horse head bakelite brooch in my dad's antique shop – he had $12 on it- I bet him I could get more on ebay! I did 🙂

Look up Alfred Philippe – Trifari. He was a designer and his pieces are worth a lot. Also, the other early Trifari pieces are highly collectible.

Hi Margaret I have been binge watching several youtubers since starting my postmark and eBay businesses last month. I have to say, though there's many awesome people out there, you are amazing and one of my very favorite. You give us so much useful information and share it in such a way that I never get board of watching you and your great energy!! Thank you so much and you are inspiring me to share the things that I'm finding and learning too. The thing is I've been thrifting since the 60's and 70's with my mom as a child, and when I'm out there it brings me such joy and nostalgia with memories of her. Amazingly I seem to have a gift for finding awesome treasure and love researching so know this is what I'm supposed to be doing. Besides the great people I'm finding the other cool thing is what I'm learning on each item I find, I'm such a crazy obsessive researcher..and spend probably wayyy to much time on it though haha. So lately I'm thinking wow I should be sharing this stuff that I'm learning back with you guys to give back…but here's this thing the idea of making a video scares the heck out of me. Maybe it's a fear I'm supposed to overcome so we shall see, let me know if you have any advice or suggestions about that. Meanwhile I just really wanted to thank you and also to tell you my thoughts are with you and your family out there in Texas and I hope that Harvey lets up and you are all staying safe.

I sold one for $125 and it was from a GW lot. Found several sterling pieces in it. Got the whole thing for $3.

I buy eye glass brooches and old telephone brooches and bird cages and baskets, but mainly the first too. I'm nuts about those!

  • Lauren Caddo - January 12, 2018 reply

If they bother to brand it, BUY IT!

It pays to do your research !! I once had an acquaintance who set up an auction for a local auctioneer, putting things into lots for sale,….the deceased seller had a collection of hundreds and hundreds of George Jensen pieces…my acquaintance did not look him up and so just put 25 pieces in each flat and another friend of mine who was at the auction and knew what he was looking at made a killing !!!!! He literally earned over a year's salary by paying just hundreds at that auction. If I were the family of the deceased owner, I would have sued the auction company for negligence.!!!

Hope all will be well. Stay Safe! TFS

I picked up $10000 David Webb ring at a thrift store about 4 weeks ago for $7 . Because it looked very costume -like a piece of jewelry. It was huge and had white enamel on top . Actually, it was all 18K gold . 42 grams of it! Always check enamel pieces. Lots of high-end designers using it! And to many people it looks just like a fashion jewelry..
